Youtube is not a community There's a lot of talk about how the youtube "community" is being ruined or dumbed down. For one l think there ISN'T a community. You cant ruin something that doesn't exist anymore. Google slowly and methodically destroyed any sense of that a long time ago. YouTube is just a dumping ground for advertisements That's it. You upload a vlog or lets play and you move on with your day. Sure there's a comment section, but it's cluttered with thousands of replys and entirely irrelevant. Channels were streamlined and any sense of individuality got removed. Before you had tutorials on how to make personalized backgrounds with borders and patterns and graphics. All you get now is a white background, a banner to customize, and a discussion tab/about me that nobody checks or gets notifications for. By taking away groups and video replies people are now forced to upload a video and HOPE someone gets to see it. Youtubes essentially driven out normal people and molded itself as a platform only for selling a personality or product. Youtube is not a community. You either show up with a purpose to become internet famous or you don't matter It's the same problem Nickelodeon has been having recently. Grabbing a bored audiences attention solely for money with cheaply made content This isn't a jab at youtubers just the site itself
