About

Cookie Run: Kingdom is a free-to-play RPG and city builder hybrid released by Devsisters. It was released on January 20th, 2021, after much promotion and fanfare, with over three million downloads preregistered.

History

On December 4th, 2020, Devsisters launched the trailer for Cookie Run: Kingdom. The game was released in winter 2020 worldwide, and had its official English release on January 21st, 2021.



On May 21st, 2021, Pocket Gamer.com[1] reported that Devsisters has unveiled part of a cast for a English-language dub, which included Jamie Mortellaro, Casandra Lee Morris and Erica Mendez. On August 23rd 2021, Devsisters posted a tweet[2] featuring a sneak peek of the dub, featuring LeeandLie voicing Parfait Cookie. On September 2nd, 2021, a video of the cast reveal was launched on YouTube.



The English-language dub was released on October 8th, 2021, alongside a new YouTube video[3] promoting the game featuring Jeremy Shada voicing GingerBrave.



On September 11st, 2021, GamerBrave published an article[6] about Genshin Impact players moving to Cookie Run: Kingdom in the wake of the Anniversary Rewards Backlash.

The game quickly inspired fan art from the game's lore, including the new cookies. One of those examples came from Twitter user, @WomeGa55,[5] who made fan art featuring a Big Squishy Visitor alongside the Dark Lord's Castle (shown below). It received 11.4k retweets and 17.1k likes. Twitter user, @tappledualies[4] used the Miitopia Mii Maker to recreate GingerBrave. It received 1.4k likes.
