Mokele-Mbembe

For our next African critter, we come to the Congo, the most <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo">cursed land of modern times.</a>

But the tale of the two Congolese republics is a story for another time.

<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mokele-mbembe">Mokele-Mbembe</a> is a creature from Congolese Folklore that is described as being like an <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apatosaurus">Apatosaurus</a> by Western Explorers and as a Half-Dragon, Half-Elephant creature by the natives.

Although a vegetarian, the Mokele-Mbembe was highly territorial and was known to regularly kill the hell-pigs known as Hippos that strolled into it's territory.

According to the Aka, a tribe of pygmies native to the area, the Mokele-Mbembe used to be a real creature, but went extinct sometime around 2006. So we possibly had real-life dinosaurs, but they're all dead now.

Nothing good ever happens in the Congo. Never.
