About

Flex Paste is a sealant product made by the American company Flex Seal which was introduced in February 2020 as an addition to its successful Flex Seal product family which includes Flex Tape. The enthusiastic CEO of the company Phil Swift is featured in the product's commercials which inspired a series of object-labeling memes.

History

On February 14th, 2020, Flex Seal released "Flex Paste™ Commercial – Phil Swift" to YouTube (shown below). During the commerical Phil Swift demonstrates how Flex Paste can be used. The video garnered over five million views in two weeks. The product was also introduced to their site which described the product by saying "Flex Paste™ is a super thick rubberized paste that clings to the surface and instantly fills large gaps, cracks and holes. Once dry, Flex Paste turns into a strong, flexible, watertight, rubberized coating that seals out air, water and moisture."[2] On February 26th, Stay Hipp[1] published an article on the various memes the commercial inspired.
