About

Ninja Slayer is a Japanese science-fiction novel series created by Bradley Bond and Philip "Ninj@" Morzez, published by Enterbrain. It takes place in the cyberpunk metropolis of Neo-Saitama and follows Kenji Fujikido, a salaryman possessed by a ninja soul called Naraku Ninja. As Naraku's craving for massacring evil overlaps with Fujikido's lust for revenge, they create Ninja Slayer. As the man and the spirit become more intertwined, the more powerful Ninja Slayer becomes.[1]

History

Ninja Slayer was originally on Twitter by Japanese "translators" Honda Yu and Sugi Leika, allegedly adapting the story from American authors "Bradley Bond and Philip "Ninj@" Morzez". After the series grew in popularity, the creators gave permission to Kadokawa's Enterbrain to release it as a novel with illustrations by Warainaku in September 2012.[2] As of June 2016, sixteen novels have been released.

Since then, Ninja Slayer has received four manga adaptations and an ONA adaptation that is produced by Studio Trigger and directed by Akira Amemiya, best know for his work on Inferno Cop. It has been discovered that there is no evidence of an original copy of Ninja Slayer, and Bradley Bond & Philip "Ninj@" Morzez are fictional authors, and were created to make the illusion of an elaborate backstory. It turns out that the Japanese translators (Honda Yu and Sugi Leika) are the real creators.[3]
