Our Drawings is a 2023 animated children's movie produced by Calobi Productions and posted to YouTube in October 2023. The movie is about a girl, Paige Foster, who has a supernatural pencil that lets her teleport into the world of whatever she draws. Along with her beatboxing puppy sidekick and a drawing named Calobi, she embarks on a quest to find a mysterious masked man who has been sneaking into her drawn worlds and killing her creations for their energy. The movie went viral on TikTok in January 2024 as the subject of memes that poke fun at its overall quality, with several lines from the film, including, "Are you from Ohio or something?" going viral.

History

On October 19th, 2023, YouTuber^[1] Calobi Productions published an hour-long animated film titled Our Drawings. The movie follows Paige Foster, her beatboxing dog sidekick and a drawing named Calobi as they try and take down a mysterious, masked drawing not drawn by Paige who is killing her drawings. The video gained over 192,000 views in four months (shown below).

Ever wished to see your drawings come to life? An adventurous woman named Paige Foster has the ability to travel inside of her art. In her drawings she can become whatever she desires. Her sidekick is a beatboxing puppy! Paige Foster is the princess of the drawing world. However, a mysterious unknown man has snuck into her drawings.

6 years ago I got really bored and decided to create a family movie. So here it is. My passion project has been completed! This is an animated movie. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. I believe I am on the level of Disney and Dreamworks. I made this with hardly anything. Paid for out of pocket.

2. The movie was created almost entirely in Blender.
3. Less than 10 people donated to me because they had little faith that I could create a movie on my own.

Our Drawings became the subject of memes on TikTok and YouTube in January 2024, also becoming the subject of criticism and video essays. On January 20th, YouTuber^[2] Saberspark posted a video reacting to the animation titled "The Most EMBARRASSING Animated Movie by a YouTuber," garnering over 500,000 views in two weeks (shown below).

On January 21st, 2024, TikToker^[3] @beatboxinghorseanus posted a compilation of highlights from the film, captioned, "There's no way this movie isn't satire help," garnering over 1.6 million views in two weeks (shown below).

One of the most popular subjects of memes comes from the line "Are you from Ohio or something?" spoken by a character around the 02:48-minute mark. For example, on January 22nd, 2024, TikToker^[4] @whatdawhat05 posted the clip, garnering over 700,000 views in two weeks (shown below).

On January 24th, TikToker^[5] @catfunked posted an animation in which the audio is set to Kris from Deltarune and Cartman from South Park, garnering over 192,000 views in two weeks (shown below, left). On January 25th, TikToker^[6] @kyle_is_the_silliest posted an animation setting the audio to Adventure Time characters, garnering over 448,000 views in the same span of time (shown below, right).
