About

Symmetrical Margaret Thatcher, or BLFC Margaret Thatcher, refers to a picture of former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher that was deep fried and reflected to be fully symmetrical. The image was made into a sticker that was placed in many locations and posted on social media.

Origin

The first appearance of the image was on October 21st, 2021, when twitter user @raphlupus posted 2 images containing boxes with 3 stickers, one of which being a symmetrical version of , the tweet was captioned "Welcome to #BLFC2021" (Shown Bellow).

The sticker went on to be passed around at Biggest Little Fur Con 2021 by twitter users @raphlupus and @CTMCTV, where people started to place in various locations around the convention and onwards to more locations around the US and the world, and posting pictures on twitter and other sites, which is when the meme started to gain momentum.

Examples include placing the stickers on toilets, convention badges, street poles, ceilings, parks, monuments, elevators… The most popular of which was a tweet pointing out a Symmetrical Margaret Thatcher sticker placed on a toilet, which received over 2500 likes.

Spread

After the convention itself, twitter users started taking the original image and making it into various memes.

Later in the year, During Midwest Fur Fest (Another Furry Convention in December), a variant of the original sticker with no eyes or mouth was spread around the convention.
