The phrase became a viral TikTok trend and meme in mid-August 2024, typically being used alongside a piece of suspenseful music playing in the background, in which users paired the sound in POV memes of situations where they are pressured by someone or something.

The clip featuring Tiffany "New York" Pollard's "Do you know you have 30 minutes?” catchphrase was posted on February 24th, 2017, by YouTube[1] user @CrayBray in a video compilation about Pollard's best moments in the VH1 reality TV series Flavor of Love. The video (seen below) amassed more than 6 million views and 83,000 likes in seven years.



On August 17th, 2024, TikTok[2] user @qxintxnxx then posted the clip of Pollard saying the, "Do you know you have 30 minutes?” phrase as a reaction video to the platform with the text overlay commenting on the Love Island reality TV show.

The video (seen below) amassed more than 4 million plays and became the main sound effect for the "Do You Know You Have 30 Minutes?” trend on TikTok, inspiring over 165,000 other videos under the sound by early September 2024.

For example, on August 28th, 2024, TikTok[4] user @moanatease used the audio snippet in a caption meme about getting grumpy when it's hot weather outside, receiving over 3.4 million views, 723,000 likes and 680 comments in roughly a week (shown below).

On September 2nd, 2024, TikTok[3] user @maddbrown posted a video lip-dubbing the sound and the overlay text "When I warn people that I'm getting hungry and no one seems to understand the gravity of the situation." The video (seen below) amassed more than 16 million plays and 3 million likes in four days.
