Tegan Struggles at the TARDIS Controls refers to a six-second clip from the British sci-fi show Doctor Who which shows companion Tegan Jovanka, portrayed by Janet Fielding, struggling at the TARDIS controls as she looks nervous and upset. The clip became a reaction online used to illustrate an incompetent person struggling with a large problem.

Origin

The clip is taken from the 1982 Doctor Who episode "Four to Doomsday" where Tegan is seen attempting to pilot the Doctor’s ship, the TARDIS, but struggles.

Spread

Throughout 2023 and 2024, the clip started circulating on social media, mostly on Twitter/X where Doctor Who fans initially used the clip to represent the trials and tribulations of their daily life as well as situations from other points of view. (see below)
