The Among Us Potion or Amongus Potion, also known for the catchphrase We Ordered the Among Us Potion, refers to a fictional product referencing the game Among Us that originally appeared in a viral video by YouTuber Arcade Craniacs in which he says, "We ordered the among us potion from the dark web," and shows off a round glass bottle with a red liquid in it. The clip later spread on TikTok a year after it was posted to YouTube with people using the audio from the original in lip dubs to show off their strange or interesting collectibles and items.

Origin

On May 16th, 2021, YouTuber Arcade Craniacs uploaded a video to YouTube^[1] titled, "ORDERING AMONG US POTION FROM THE DARK WEB AT 3AM!! *IMPOSTOR*," gathering over 3 million plays in over a year (seen below).

Roughly a year later, various TikTokers then began reposting clips from the aforementioned video in early 2022,^[2][3] On April 18th, 2022, TikToker^[4] @random…..memes was the first reposter to reach virality with a caption that read, "Mom: go play with your cousin / My cousin:" The video gathered over 13 million plays and over 1 million likes in nearly eight months (seen below).

Spread

On January 4th, 2023, TikToker^[5] @andshiddedandfarted posted a video showing off their dirty eye shadow and using the sound from the original YouTube video, gathering over 960,000 views and 200,000 likes in nearly two weeks (seen below, left). On January 15th, TikToker^[6] @katiiejoyce posted a video showing her old sports bra, gathering over 800,000 plays and 80,000 likes in nearly a week (seen below, right).

On January 16th, 2023, TikToker^[7] @razzledazznaz then posted a video using the sound, gathering over 14 million plays and 2 million likes in nearly a week (seen below, left). Also on January 16th, TikToker^[8] @lacisrancidb0ngwater2.0 posted a video showing her foundation from Shein, gathering over 1 million plays and 200,000 likes in nearly a week (seen below, right).
