The Mandela Catalogue Is Fetish Content Theories refers to various conspiracy theories that the YouTube analog horror series The Mandela Catalogue is supposedly fetish content catering to its creator Alex Kister and his personal fetishes. The theories emerged after the creator was accused of allegedly grooming some of his fans by purportedly mimicking their fan art and style of dressing. The news led to fans interpreting the accusations as evidence that The Mandela Catalogue was art dedicated to Kister's own fetishes.
Background
On March 12th, 2024, X[1] user @STIRRINGJUICE (Ven) posted a document[5] containing their and their friend's alleged experience with Alex Kister, creator of the YouTube series The Mandela Catalogue, gathering over 28,000 likes on the post in two days. The document delved into Ven's account of Kister's unhealthy relationship with them and a person named "DB," Kister's tendency toward engaging in sexual conversations despite Ven's discomfort and his supposedly predatory behavior with some underage fans.
The majority of Ven's document details their purportedly turbulent romantic relationship with Alex Kister, followed by a section on how they think Kister has engaged in predatory and manipulative relationships with his fans and leverages their admiration for his work for personal gain. The primary evidence for this supposedly predatory relationship is a private server created by Kister to explore his gender identity, where he supposedly routinely shared photos of himself in dresses with underage fans. The document also clarifies that Ven and DB are both adults.
On March 13th, 2024, Alex Kister then posted a response to his X[2] account @KisterKatalogue, writing, "I would like to make an initial statement in response to @stirringjuice (Ven) regarding some false and baseless accusations made against me. They have infringed on my privacy and are using it to slander me. I will have a response with my own evidence soon." The post gathered over 2,000 likes in a day (seen below).
On March 12th, STIRRINGJUICE posted a series of links[3] to other people's accounts of their supposed bad experiences with Alex Kister. This included posts from 16-year-old Mitcha (@archofcorpses) who describes how she had to talk down Kister from possibly fatally harming himself and eventually harmed herself due to the stress from the incident.[4]
X[6] user @donutqq_qwq posted a document detailing her experience as one of the minors in Alex Kister's private server, saying that he had a "parasocial relationship fetish" and seemingly got off on adoration from his fans (excerpt shown below). Also on March 12th, X[7] user @scaraphim_ made a post saying that they drew fan art that Kister later mimicked in a sexual photo he purportedly sent to DB.

X users reacted to the aforementioned documents by making memes and jokes about The Mandela Catalogue being "Fetish Content." It is unclear where this idea began, but it may be linked to people accusing Kister of having a "parasocial relationship fetish" enabled by the fame he gained from making the series. Other fans[13] described The Mandela Catalogue as fetish content after interpreting the aforementioned documents as Alex Kister having a "copying others" fetish, not unlike the "alternates" in his horror series (shown below).

On March 12th, 2024, X[10] user @Atlas5hrugg3d posted a shocked emoji, writing, "THE MANDELA CATALOGUE WAS FETISH CONTENT!!?" and gathered over 63,000 likes in two days (seen below, left). X[11] user @DewEnjoyer posted a meme that read, "Tonight's episode, The Writer's Well Disguised Fetish," gathering over 1,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).
On March 12th, X[14] user @Sprucelass made a post that read, "The Mandela Catalogue being fetish content was not something I expected but not inherently surprised about," gathering over 6,000 likes in two days (seen below, left). On March 13th, X user @March7thMyWife[15] posted a Oh That's Real Nice meme about how they perceived The Mandela Catalogue as disguised fetish content (seen below, right.)
The Mandela Catalogue Leaks and Bible Analogies
Some internet users posted unreleased Mandela Catalogue content in response to the allegations levied against Alex Kister. On March 13th, 2024, X[8] user @WhostheotherMES posted a link[9] containing, "unfinished Vol. 5 scenes, scripts, behind the scenes images and footage, series plot, assets, Patreon content, scrapped Vol. 333 menu, and more." The post gathered over 3,800 likes in a day (seen below, left).
Also on March 13th, X[12] user @OughPizzaPasta posted a thread of leaked Mandela Catalogue content, gathering over 19,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).
