About

The Priiize originates from a cutscene in Mass Effect 2. If one plays as the female Shepard, there is an option to pursue a romantic relationship with male human squadmate Jacob Taylor. The culmination of this romantic sub-plot is a scene in which Jacob enters Shepard's living quarters uninvited. He utters a line in a seductive and drawn out manner, placing great emphasis on the word "price"; accordingly, it is typical in an example of this meme to see the word spelled as "priiize" (or with even more exaggeration).

Dialogue

The following section of Jacob's dialogue is most typically quoted:
Look at thiiis: like sneaking into the captain's quarters… Heavy risk… but the priiize

Spinoffs

While the meme is often used in its original context, it can also be used to refer to other risks and rewards, typically with a word that rhymes with "prize," such as the following:

  • Going to McDonalds: heavy risk, but the friiies…
  • Watching a James Bond movie: heavy risk, but the spiiies…
  • Adding extra yeast: heavy risk, but the riiise…
  • Ditching my girlfriend to hang out with my friends: heavy risk, but the guyyys…
