The first instance of this meme was a page named "Throwing bricks at sluts", which was then mimicked and parodied several times.
Popularity
On the 27 July 2010, an enormous amount of different versions of this meme were made as pages on Facebook, and on 'like' sites (such as iLikey.us), which were then linked to Facebook. This meme grew popularity over the following days. Eventually, the number of pages being created slowly decreased.
This meme is still quite active, with people regularly updating there statuses with comments such as 'likes throwing rocks at <friend's name>'.
