Turtle Song Persian Language is a viral video of a remix of a commercial featuring Terry the turtle from the animated series Creature Comforts singing a parody of the song "Darvish" by Iranian singer Golpa.

Origin

On June 4th, 2016, YouTuber Faraz Horse rider published the video "Turtle song persian language." The post received more than 1.9 million views in less than four years (shown below).

The video features a remix of a commercial for Heat Electric that features the character Terry from Creature Comforts, a claymation series directed by Nick Park singing a parody of the song "Darvish" by Golpa (videos below, left and right, respectively).^[1]

Spread

On March 19th, 2019, Redditor ^[2] published a remix of the song on the /r/arabfunny reddit.

Following the spread of the video, the supposed lyrics of the song became a copypasta:

Later that month, an unknown Redditor^[3] posted a version of the video remixed with Epic Rap Battles of History. The post receivbed more than 1,300 points (99% upvoted) in less than two years (shown below).

On April 27th, YouTuber niknok posted a clip of the film Avengers: Infinity War that featured the song overdubbed atop the movie. The post received more than50,000 views in a little more than one year (shown below, left).

Two days later, on April 29th, YouTuber Jswensenmusic posted a remix of the song with an image of a microphone and a turtle emoji. They titled the video "Turtle Song Persian Language 2.0." In a little over one year, the post received more than 155,000 views (shown below, right).
