URETHRA!! refers to a play on words with the phrase "Eureka!" accompanied by a Animoji of a bald man with a manic expression and a light bulb above his head. Due to its absurdist nature, the tweet went viral on platforms such as X and TikTok.

Origin

On November 17, 2021, in an Apple Community forum thread about how Memojis could look unsettling due to bugs, user nesorune posted a screenshot depicting their Memoji library.^[4] This included several bits of the manic expression with a lightbulb.

On December 12th 2022, X^[1] user @LiamBeUponYe tweeted a crop of the above image with the caption "URETHRA!!" The post (shown below) has since been deleted, but amassed 61,100 likes and 10,800 retweets in three months.

Although not initially popular when first tweeted, the post took off to massive levels in early January. iFunny^[2] user @CarlosAyy posted a Wikipedia montage featuring the Animoji (shown below, left), which amassed roughly 23 reactions and one comment in nine months. On August 25th, 2023, X^[3] user @iheartsephiroth posted the image of a mobile game character paired with the "Uretha!!" ironic expression (shown below, right). The post garnered over 21 likes and 3 retweets in a week.
