About

Wakko's America is a song from the 90's animated television series Animaniacs in which Wakko Warner names all 50 states of the United States along with their capitals in the form of a song. Similar to another song of the same nature from the show, Yakko's World, the video has become a popular source to use in Word Replacement Remixes.

Origin

The song comes from the second segment of the 21st episode of Animaniacs aired on October 12, 1993, which is also titled Wakko's America. In the segment, Mrs. Flamiel and her students, Yakko, Wakko and Dot play a parody of Jeopardy in class. When Wakko chooses the highest-earning question in the "United States" category, he is given a Daily Double question, which is to name all 50 states and their capitals. He decides to do this by singing a song to the tune of "Turkey in the Straw" on this topic, but loses because he failed to put his answer in the form of a question.

On April 30, 2017, BL uploaded a video called "Wakko's America but Everytime Wakko Says a Capital the Video gets Louder". This gained 63,830 views.

Spread

Around the time that Yakko's World became popular a few months later, fans of Animaniacs chose to make various Word Replacement Remixes out of the scene as well due to its' similar nature, with the earliest example being TripOnTheKirb's "Wakko's America, but every state's capital is replaced with "its city"".
