About

What? I'm Ready is a phrasal template that has become popular on TikTok for use in quick-change videos. The audio clip comes from the Freaky Friday remake staring Lindsay Lohan, with Lohan saying the line after being woken up. Oftentimes, the meme is used with the full audio of having Jamie Lee Curtis yell to hurry up, though it isn't in every example.

Origin

The movie Freaky Friday came out on August 6th, 2003, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. In the opening of the movie, Jamie Lee Curtis is desperately trying to wake up the teenage Lohan, who keeps avoiding getting ready for school. This audio comes from the very end of the scene, which was uploaded to YouTube on May 11th, 2017, by the channel English Class[1], earning over 33,000 views in five years (shown below).

On TikTok, the original video including the audio has been lost as the account was deleted, with the earliest example of the audio in use being on April 27th, 2022, by the TikToker chloedebra[2], in which she's in her bathroom and go behind the door to quickly change into her dance outfit, earning her over 301,000 likes in six months (shown below).

This would go on to be the most popular usage of the audio, with the TikTok getting over 3.7 million likes in five months (shown below).
