Whole House Mad is a viral image showing a dog jumping at another dog, siblings fighting in the background, all occurring at the same time. The picture became a viral image macro meme in October 2022, accompanied by the text "whole house mad." In June 2024, the image resurfaced on X, former Twitter, as a reaction image used to describe chaotic situations, especially among fandoms.

Origin

On October 16th, 2022, X^[1] user @champagneislife posted a chaotic scene of his living room in which his dogs are fighting while his three siblings are seemingly exchanging punches in the background. The image, captioned "whole house mad," received over 171,000 likes and 24,000 reposts in two years.

Spread

The chaotic picture was widely shared across social media over the following years, being turned into a reaction image on X in June 2024. For example, on July 5th, 2024, X^[2] user @theEldestB0y used the "whole house mad" picture as an example of The Bear TV series' characters, captioning "The bear season 3 episode 3 in a nutshell. Absolute fucking cinema." The tweet (seen below) received roughly 8 likes in three months.

On July 26th, 2024, Instagram^[3] user @k4n_ji edited a Jujutsu Kaisen manga panel into the "whole house mad" meme (seen below), amassing over 1,400 likes and 3 comments in three months.
