About

Jujutsu Kaisen is a manga and anime series following high school student Yūji Itadori, a boy with unnatural physical strength who becomes a vessel for one of the strongest cursed spirits in history, Sukuna, after consuming one of Sukuna's 20 fingers. Itadori makes a pact with a sorcerer, Satoru Gojō of Jujutsu Tech, that he will consume all 20 of Sukuna's fingers before Jujutsu Tech can kill him, which will kill Sukuna as well. The series has run as a manga since 2018 before receiving an anime adaptation published by MAPPA in 2020.

History

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, who first published Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School in the summer of 2017. This would later serve as a prequel for Jujutsu Kaisen, which began publishing in Weekly Shonen Jump on March 5th, 2018. As of December 2020, there have been 14 volumes of the manga.[1]
