About

Wrong Door refers to a video meme remixing a scene from Little Witch Academia in which the protagonist Atsuko Kagari opens a door to an apartment and finds out it wasn't the door she intended. What is behind the door is changed in the remixes.

Origin

The original video comes from a scene from Episode 8 from the anime Little Witch Academia.[1] An anonymous user later uploaded an exploitable greenscreen version of this scene to Streamable.[2]

Spread

On November 13th, 2017, Youtube and Twitter user postboxcool, formally known as Reece.K, received this greenscreen via discord and decided upload a variation which edited the inside of the apartment to be an excerpt from the “Bebe’s Kids (SNES)” review done by The Nostalgia Critic, gaining 205 views upon initial release, now the video currently stands at 8.5K views (shown below).

Popular YouTuber kmlkmljkl uploaded a remix of the video using the same greenscreen on November 23rd the same year. His remix featured Adam Perkins' popular Vine Welcome to Chili's and gained over 27,000 views (shown below).

On November 26th, 2017, YouTuber Ciaran uploaded a variation which gained over 23,000 views (shown below, left). On December 16th, kmlkmljkl uploaded another variation which gained over 19,000 views (shown below, right).
