X has no hope in Youtube are videos showing the reaction of characters from Valve games like: Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 to Youtube's new Beta Channel layout. The video would show the character looking at Computer monitor, shocked or disappointed, while zooming in on the characters face, while playing the song Best of Times from the soundtrack of the video game World of Goo. The charcters expression remains the same throughout the video. These videos are made in Garry's Mod

Origins

GmodFTW123 from Youtube, posted a video on the 20th of July 2009, entitled Louis has no hope in Youtube …. This video shows the reaction of Louis from Left 4 Dead holding Pain pills (an healing item), looking at an Computer monitor, shocked at Youtube's new Beta Channel. GmodFTW123 got the idea for "Louis has no hope in Youtube …" from a flash loop on Pown.it entitled I see No hope which is a flash loop similar to "Louis has no hope in Youtube …" but it zooms in on an image of a Cat looking at someone.

Spread

One month after the video was uploaded, many parodies were created. Most of these used characters from Left 4 Dead, after all the charcters from Left 4 Dead were used, many other Youtubers used characters/classes from Team Fortress 2 like Heavy, Spy and Soldier and characters from Half Life 2 like G-man and the Zombie. Some Youtubers have even parodied the video in Miku Miku Dance and in real life. Some parodies are not even reactions to Youtube but to other subjects, these videos still use the same features as the music and the zooming in.
