Amidst All The AOC Dress Talk, Let's Not Forget Grimes Showed Up To The Met Gala With A Sword

Last night's Met Gala featured many celebrities weaponizing fashion to assault peoples eyeballs and sense of good taste, but only one attendee brought a literal weapon: Grimes, who showed up to the event with a literal sword.

The sword was forged from a melted AR-15, which was Grimes way of contributing to the event's "In America" theme. The sword was made by a company literally called guns2swords, whose (rather badass) website outlines a very simple deal: send in your gun and they'll turn it into a sword.

To many, the stunt seemed very much a Grimes thing to do. Two years ago, Grimes talked about how she engaged in sword play while explaining her training regimen, though the sword portion of the regimen was by far the least quirky thing about it.

As you may expect, Grimes showing up to a fashion show with a literal sword caused quite a stir on Twitter.

At least one person noted that while the sword may have seemed out of place, considering the event's theme, it was actually extremely on point.
