Rapper B.o.B doesn’t believe the Earth is round. He doesn’t believe the curve exists. And if B.o.B can get raise one million dollar through his latest GoFundMe campaign, he will send “one, if not multiple” satellites into space in order to examine the curvature of the Earth, a pivotal point of contention for flat-Earthers who argue that such "curve" should be more visible to the human eye. Aptly titled "Show B.o.B The Curve," the campaign has raised more than $2,900 in just about a week.
In the past year or so, B.o.B has become one of the more vocal and famous advocates of the flat-earth theory. Last January, the rapper got into a highly publicized argument with prominent astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson on Twitter. After getting burned by science, B.o.B released a diss track about Tyson, which in turn led Tyson's rapping nephew to drop a diss track right back at him. It was… all very embarrassing.
The cities in the background are approx. 16miles apart… where is the curve ? please explain this pic.twitter.com/YCJVBdOWX7

"I'm really looking for the curve," says the 28-year-old rapper in his latest YouTube video, which has garnered upwards of 75,000 views since its release on Monday. B.o.B's mission to the Earth's orbit has attracted some media attention as well, including CNN and The Verge, all stemming from his vague and, perhaps, tongue-in-cheek search of "the curve."
So, let's say B.o.B somehow raises a million bucks and buys a satellite with it. What if he gets tangled up in red tape and can't launch it? Even if he got the green light, what if the satellite immediately finds the curve (and probably a lot of them)? What will he do then? What is his endgame here?
It's interesting to keep in mind that GoFundMe, unlike other crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter or IndieGoGo, doesn’t require its fundraisers to reach their goal in order to cash out the amount that has been already donated, a policy that has drawn its fair share of scrutiny and criticisms for facilitating online scams.
For its part, after the campaign went viral, GoFundMe released a statement assuring the company would put the funds on hold while its team investigated its validity:
"GoFundMe's terms and conditions are available at gofundme.com/terms. We will remove any campaign that violates our terms, but GoFundMe is also an open platform, and ultimately it is up to the GoFundMe community to decide which campaigns to donate to. Although this campaign does not presently violate our terms of service, we have placed the campaign funds on hold while we work with the organizer to ensure funds are managed appropriately."
In Airplanes, B.o.B says he could really use a wish right now. Little did we know at the time his wish would be a million smackeroos to get owned by science.
