Bronze Statues Of Walter White And Jesse From 'Breaking Bad' To Get Installed In Albuquerque
Bronze statues of the Breaking Bad main character duo Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are about to get unveiled in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the city where one of the most popular, and most memed, shows of the 21st century takes place.
According to a press release, the series creator Vince Gilligan commissioned the statues from sculptor Trevor Grove back in 2019 and is now donating them to the city of Albuquerque alongside Sony Pictures Television. Bronze Heisenberg and Jesse will be unveiled on July 29th, with Gilligan and actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul attending the ceremony.
Now as there are still more than two weeks left before we get to see the iconic duo in bronze, we asked the image generation model DALL-E Mini to give us a sneak peek.
"Over the course of fifteen years, two TV shows and one movie, Albuquerque has been wonderful to us. I wanted to return the favor and give something back," Gilligan said. "These larger-than-life bronzes of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman exist thanks to the generosity of Sony Pictures Television and the artistry of sculptor Trevor Grove, and I love them. It makes me happy to picture them gracing The Duke City for decades to come, attracting busloads of tourists."
Albuquerque is the main location for Breaking Bad, its film epilogue El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and for the spin-off series Better Call Saul, the last season of which resumed airing yesterday on AMC after a short break.
