Many around the world can likely recall a negative experience they have had involving both Dunkin Donuts and a toilet, but few have had it as bad as a man suing the company for a 2022 incident in which a Dunkin' toilet allegedly exploded while he was using it, resulting in physical and emotional damage he has carried for over a year.

Paul Kerouac is claiming that the staff of a Dunkin Donuts in Winter Park, Florida was aware that it had a malfunctioning toilet and did not take proper steps to ensure it didn't explode all over his body when he went to use it.

He alleges that due to their negligence, he suffered emotional and physical injuries after being pelted with urine, feces and toilet debris.

The suit says he suffered "bodily injury and psychological damages resulting in pain and suffering, disability, permanent and significant emotional injury, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of medical care and treatment." He is suing Dunkin for $50,000.

The story spread widely on social media, as the jaw-dropping nature of the tale led to a wave of jokes and memes, many of which had to do with the fact that while Florida Man is known for "his" antics, we shouldn't sleep on Florida Toilets.

Dunkin has yet to respond publically to the lawsuit and has not indicated whether they will pay the damages for Mr. Kerouac's crappy time at their establishment.
