Your Bra Strap Is Showing is a redraw meme format based on a comic in which someone tells a girl wearing an off-the-shoulder shirt, "Your bra strap is showing," and the girl, annoyed, lifts her shirt to show her whole bra to the person.

The earliest known meme to follow this format was posted to the /r/bigboobproblems subreddit in September 2017. In June 2026, X / Twitter user and artist @nightguardlover posted a now-deleted webcomic using the same joke, which inspired a wave of redraws on X over the following days.

Origin

On September 28th, 2017, Redditor Double0parada posted a meme to the /r/bigboobproblems^[1] subreddit that uses an image of actress Emma Roberts from the movie Ashby lifting her shirt. The caption reads, "'Your bra strap is showing,'" and depicts Roberts' shirt lift as the response. The post gained nearly 450 upvotes in nine years. The meme is watermarked to an account called "emmaisdaddy."

Around June 7th or June 8th, 2026, X^[2] user and artist @nightguardlover posted a comic following this format, purportedly with the character Vannabelle from FNaF, although it has since been deleted.

Later on June 8th, X^[3] user @aarondapisacrap quoted the post with another original iteration of the meme, writing, "I like this idea," gaining over 78,000 likes and 3,500 reposts in three days.

The Your Bra Strap Is Showing redraw meme became significantly popularized on X / Twitter in early June 2026 following user @nightguardlover's post.

On June 8th, 2026, X^[4] user @ALHnsfwarts posted a version of the meme with the character Kit Bodega from Gameoverse, garnering over 25,000 likes in three days.

On June 9th, X^[5] user @ABoredSnek posted a version of the meme, presumably of their OC, that gained over 28,000 likes in two days.

On June 10th, 2026, X^[6] user @Lughostin posted a redraw of the comic depicting a version of their OC Stocking the Eternal that garnered over 127,000 likes in a day.
