Throughout 2026, Instagram Reels users began using a variation of the text from the post as a copypasta in the description of unrelated uploads, purportedly as a way of manipulating the Instagram algorithm to favor and further spread the videos. In late June and early July 2026, memes about V stepping into the crowd were popularized on Reels and TikTok. As early as May 2026, Instagram users began using the caption as a copypasta in videos completely unrelated to V or the Vogue World Hollywood show.^[2] It is unclear when exactly this trend started or who was the originator.

As the copypasta grew in popularity, another similar copypasta derived from an unknown source began spreading. It reads: "V stepped into the crowd, taking in live performances at Vogue World: Hollywood. Known for his own standout fashion moments, he kept it effortlessly stylish in a look worthy of the runway."

For example, on May 30th, 2026, Instagram^[3] user igg_allen used the copypasta in a video that gained over 313,000 likes in just over a month. It is unclear who first used the copypasta.

On July 6th, 2026, Instagram^[4] user bytelasagnq posted a meme about V stepping into the crowd, portraying V as the protagonist of Cyberpunk 2077, who is also named V, garnering over 39,000 likes in a week.

On July 8th, Instagram^[5] user hyperblaxe posted a meme about V stepping into the crowd that gained over 51,800 likes in five days.
