The days when Elon Musk was getting summarily roasted for his Elden Ring build seem halcyon after a year of watching the billionaire attract far more serious controversies, but Musk has once again provided social media one of his gaming takes that Twitter / X seems all too happy to gather around and roast, perhaps in remembrance of a simpler time.

With social media extremely hyped about the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI trailer finally releasing, albeit a day early due to leaks, Musk chimed in with his thoughts about the series.

To put it mildly, many on social media found them extremely "square."

It appears Musk did not vibe with the Grand Theft Auto series for moral reasons, saying he did not want to commit crimes and shoot police officers. As both are significant aspects of the infamously controversial series, it makes sense why Musk wouldn't like it.

The issue for many is that his take aligns with the moral panic that has historically surrounded GTA, as it's been commonly cited in the "violence in video games" debate.

Though Musk is simply stating why he didn't vibe with the game and not attempting to make a grander political point (perhaps smartly), social media users were quick to dunk on his take by posting memes and other jokes.

Curiously, Elon Musk is also on the record as saying one of his favorite games is Saints Row IV.

The Saints Row series also involves an open-world exploration of a city with gangs and crime and was once criticized for being too similar to the Grand Theft Auto series. However, in the fourth installment,_ the main gang has become so popular that the player is elected President of the United States, leading to wacky adventures fighting aliens.
