A TikTok in which an IHOP worker agonizes over the revelation she turned a masked Adam Sandler away from the busy restaurant by telling him that there was a 30-minute wait has exploded on the platform, gaining over 8 million views in just two days.

According to the short @dayanna.rodas clip, she didn't recognize she was speaking to a celebrity at the restaurant until she reviewed the security cam footage. Sandler can be seen receiving the news and casually leaving the restaurant, because, as @dayanna.rodas pointed out, "of course he's not gonna wait 30 minutes for IHOP."

Despite her regret at not recognizing Sandler, TikTok users praised her for giving the regular-person treatment to a major celebrity—and Sandler for evidently treating the situation like a regular person.

"I would lose respect for the restaurant that lets a celebrity go before everyone else who were waiting in line though," said commenter Mitz Tang. "You did the right thing."

"The fact he could have said ‘I’m Adam Sandler’ and didn’t is amazing. Most celebrities would use their status to get them places," wrote another.

The video was reposted to Reddit's /r/TikTokCringe, where users made cracks at Sandler's outfit. "How could they not tell. He was wearing the Adam Sandler fit," joked one user. "Just realized the Sandler 'fit is basically required attire for every father in IHOP," responded another.
