It has been a rough few years for right-wing wunderkind Milo Yiannopoulos. The provocateur has suffered yet another blow this week: He was banned from Midwest FurFest.
Initially reported by Jared Holt of Right Wing Watch, Yiannopoulos announced plans to attend FurFest on Telegram and had adopted a snow leopard "fursona" for the event. However, after Holt reached out to the Midwest Furry Fandom, they confirmed he would not be welcome.
UPDATE: I just got a statement in from Midwest FurFest:
"The board of Midwest Furry Fandom, consistent with our posted code of conduct, has rescinded Mr. Yiannopoulos’s registration. He is not welcome to attend this or any future Midwest FurFest event.” https://t.co/M5ynm0tcyP— Jared Holt (@jaredlholt) September 16, 2019
In response to Yiannopoulos' latest stunt, a group of furries known as the Furry Raiders welcomed him with his open paws. The group has been criticized for using Nazi-inspired imagery in their posts, including a red, white and black paw label bearing similarities to the Nazi flag.
The goal is furry individuality; that must be our prime responsibility. We are the paragons that embody the furry spirit of the fandom, whether we want to be or not and therefore our dream is to preserve the fandom. To do that we must have perseverance and goodwill. pic.twitter.com/byZP4SIv2N

The Furry Fandom will always be a open and free place to express yourself.

It's been a rough couple of years for Yiannopoulos. In 2016, he was banned from Twitter after being accused of leading a harassment campaign against actress Leslie Jones. The following year, a podcast clip in which he appeared to defend pederasty cost him his job at Breitbart and BuzzFeed reported that he had communicated with various alt-right and neo-Nazi figures, including Daily Stormer admin Andrew "Weev" Auernheimer.
