'Morbius' Streams In Its Entirety On Twitch For Over 12 Straight Hours
Morbius is, according to reviews, a bad movie, but that hasn't stopped Morb mania from sweeping the internet. The film has generated a bevy of memes, many of which hinge on no one having actually seen it, so there's clearly some sort of audience for Sony Pictures' latest effort to make a Spider-Man cinematic universe — perhaps not an audience that would pay for a movie ticket, however.
Enter Twitch channel Morbius247, who spent 12 hours earlier this week streaming Morbius on loop until the account was shut down.
Someone has been streaming the entirety of Morbius on twitch for the past 12 hours and there's currently over 2000 people watching it live. I'm losing my mind pic.twitter.com/u8qcqHMFY9

The stream was, by all accounts, a wild time, as the Twitch chat was filled with people not so much watching the movie as spamming Morbius-related memes in the chat for the entirety of the run. And Morbius247 wasn't the only streamer to bring the entirety of Morbius to their channel.
Others, like kujou_vt streamed the film in defiance of any punishment they might receive for violating Twitch's terms of service, thinking "I’m not gonna get banned for watching Morbius because nobody gives a f*** about it." Currently, the kujou_vt account is banned.
While it seems Twitch has nuked all VODs of full-Morbius streams, the fact that nearly a full day went by with Morbius anarchy on the platform led some people to wonder if the actions of "Morbius247" and others were some sort of guerrilla marketing tactic by Sony to milk their critical flop of a movie for all its meme worth.
At some point during the 104 minutes of Morbius it sets in that you aren't ironically enjoying the film you just fell for astroturfing.

Unironically if Sony started a twitch channel and streamed Morbius themselves 24/7 and allowed for subs with Morbius emotes, they would make more money on Morbius than if they tried to sell tickets or VOD sales.

Sadly, if you didn't catch Morbius day on Twitch, you missed your chance to Morb. However, if you are still morbiusly curious to see the movie but don't want to spend astronomical movie theater prices nor encourage Sony to make a sequel, rumor has it that the entire Morbius movie is floating around Discord somewhere.
