YouTuber Mr. Beast launched a new charity campaign today, this time aimed at helping the seas instead of the trees. #TeamSeas is the name of the movement that will run until January 2022 with the goal to clean up as much trash from the ocean as possible by donating 1$ to clean up 1 pound of trash.

With a hoard of YouTube content creators on his side, Mr. Beast hopes to make this even more successful than his tree campaign two years ago, known as #TeamTrees.

Within two hours of his first tweet about the event, and of his video being up, Mr. Beast tweeted the exciting news that the charity has already raised $1 million dollars, meaning that over 1 million pounds of trash will be cleaned out of the ocean. This number in such a short time was only possible due to the large number of content creators who all pushed videos out on the same day in synchronicity to make sure that as many people saw the kickstart as possible.
