Easter is just around the corner, which means it's nearly time for Peeps to make their globular return to American consciousness, and boy have they done it with aplomb this year.

"Peeps," for those unaware, are marshmallows molded into a usually seasonally-relevant shape and then doused in dyed sugar. In America, they're usually bought at the onset of springtime and are mainstays in Easter baskets. They are the definition of "cloyingly sweet."

Now, Peeps has collaborated with Pepsi to make a marshmallow cola that is incredibly not named Peepsi. Though they regrettably won't be sold in stores, social media users can win a 3-pack of 7.5 ox cans by posting photos with the hashtag "#HangingWithMyPEEPS." According to People, the sodas taste "vaguely like Lucky Charms."

"After what has been a very difficult year, many consumers are looking for new things to smile about," said Todd Kaplan, Pepsi's VP of Marketing. "So, to celebrate the start of springtime, Pepsi collaborated with PEEPS to develop a limited batch of its first-ever marshmallow cola."

So far, there are much fewer people tweeting #HangingWithMyPEEPS" than there are people bewildered they didn't just call the soda "Peepsi."
