Musical artist, fashion designer, housing unit creator and frequent subject of memes, Kanye West has had a listening party for his newest album, titled Donda, which signals that it may be released very soon.

In the past, listening parties were a way to get early hype for projects soon to be released, as well as a way to get the fans involved in exclusive events and final check that everything sounds fine in various live environments. The event, which was held in Las Vegas Sunday night, has generated mixed reactions online from people both excited and skeptical of the new album.

According to Twitter user @PigsAndPlans, a detailed account of the listening party was posted on the subreddit /r/WestSubEver by Redditor JosephT24, which goes into various details about not only the music featured at the party, but previewing two commercials that are supposed to be airing during the NBA Finals Game 6. This only added further fuel to the fire, as the reported features on the tracks made people more anxious for the release, and more skeptical of it ever coming.

While the fanbase has a reason to be wary, since West's past projects have had unexpected delays and scrapped content happen, the excitement is still very real for what Donda might bring. Another listening party, this time in Atlanta, is causing a firestorm as people try to reserve their spots and get ready for the experience, causing the Ticketmaster site to crash in the ensuing chaos.
