Rumors have circulated recently that Adin Ross will purportedly retire from streaming after a fan updates account what appeared to be a letter announcing he would quit streaming.

The letter comes after Ross, a controversial streamer with over 1.2 million followers on Kick who has notably mingled with celebrities like Andrew Tate, appeared to ask the streaming platform Twitch for a "second chance."

Adin Ross was banned from Twitch in early 2023 over his use of hateful slurs and symbols. Ross had been banned and unbanned seven times prior to the eighth and final ban.

Ross then moved to Kick, an alternative streaming platform run by a gambling and online casino company, where his contract reportedly involves promoting gambling and (according to Ross and his associates at Kick) will pay out $200 million over three years, although many have expressed skepticism at that number and it has not been confirmed anywhere.

Last week, Ross publicly asked Twitch to allow him back on the platform to stream so he could collaborate with other creators, saying, "Twitch, I’m genuinely sorry from the bottom of my heart. Can you please unban me," on his Kick stream.

So far, the retirement rumors are unconfirmed, but that hasn't stopped them from spreading widely across social media.

An account on X called @AdinUpdate posted what was alleged to be a screenshot of a letter from Ross, but many have pushed back on posters connected to the rumors of his retirement.

The 23-year-old Ross's career has been defined by controversy and contentious viral incidents. He started as a streamer focusing on GTA, but his career and commentary tilted more and more into edgy territory. He and his fans have also frequently been mocked and criticized for their political comments online.

Whether the rumors are true or not remains to be seen. However, this hasn't stopped numerous critics of Ross from celebrating the word of his supposed announcement in memes this week.

Another Ross updates account, @AdinReports, seemed to post that the retirement announcement was not real.

Some suspect it may also be a scam or a publicity stunt. In the often-murky world of internet celebrities who are banned from mainstream platforms and seek a living in more opaque corners of the web, it's often hard to tell what is true and what is not.
