Controversial "family"-channel YouTubers The 'ACE' Family have announced they will soon be leaving YouTube. In a video titled "The End of the Ace Family On YouTube…," Austin McBroom and Catherine Paiz (sort of) announced that 2022 will be their last year on the platform.

"We actually wanted to make this video a year ago, and we wanted a year ago to be our last year, but we just can’t seem to stop doing what we love to do, which is creating videos for all of you guys," Austin said. "But this year we’ve been talking about how we’re going to make this year, 2022, our last year on YouTube because next year in 2023 we wanna do a lot of traveling with the family. What I mean by traveling, I mean probably traveling for like half the year. And we wanna go to like 10 to 20 different places."

Despite the video's title and the idea that 2022 will be their "last year" on YouTube, the couple clarifies that they're not actually going to delete their channel, only that they are going to upload less.

"We’re not saying that we’re gone forever, we’re just saying that we’re not gonna be as consistent anymore," Catherine explained. "But we really enjoy what we do, we really love what we do, like this is so much fun to us, we just love filming."

The ACE family grew into one of the most prominent family-style YouTubers on the platform, amassing over 18.9 million subscribers since launching their channel in 2016. Over the years, viewers watched the couple's children Elle, Alaïa and the youngest son Steel come into the world and grow into toddlers.

Austin and Catherine have also been at the center of multiple scandals during their time in the limelight. In 2018, they held a charity basketball event, but only donated $75,000 of the promised $100,000 to charity, leaving some feeling swindled. In 2019, Austin posted a Snapchat of himself buying a penis-shaped lollipop for his young daughter, attracting another storm of controversy. The pair are also currently embroiled in multiple lawsuits.

The controversies have attracted a legion of viewers who have grown sick of the ACE family, and news that they were "quitting YouTube," even if that's not quite the case, was cause for celebration among many online.

Others surmised that the video was a bit of clickbait on the family's part to promote an upcoming festival they're hosting, which the couple claims will be "Disneyland meets Lollapalooza." A $299 ticket will admit three people and gives access to free rides, games, a “wildlife park” and performances. A $499 "VIP gold ticket" will admit five people, guarantee a meet-and-greet with the McBrooms, a ticket to Austin’s next boxing bout and an "exclusive wedding gift."
