"We live in a society," or so we thought. Last month, Zack Snyder's upcoming restoration of Justice League became the toast of meme-town, thanks to a key line. The post-title stinger of a trailer released that weekend featured the world-famous Joker saying the most beautiful and iconic five words online: "We live in a society."

The excitement for the film reached a new plateau, with the line signaling that the finished product would be an even greater piece of fan service than previously suspected. Jared Leto, who reprised his role as the Joker in the movie, even tweeted the line, cementing the production's understanding of just how important that line was to the film's marketing.

But now that people are beginning to see the film, some are wondering what kind of society we live in. Apparently, the line does not appear in the film, so any gamers hoping to rise up might want to consider other avenues, maybe shorter avenues, ones that aren't four hours long.

Of course, this isn't an uncommon tactic for movie trailers, which are, at the end of the day, a commercial. Though some are seeing this as a pretty cynical and calculated method of attracting eyeballs. It might disappoint fans, gamers and members of society, but from a marketing perspective, though, it worked like a charm. What else there to say? Release the society cut.
