This guy already exists. His name is Skulduggery Pleasant and he's a lovable Irish trickster. He's from a book series of the same name. Check him out:

Oh yeah, he's also a 400-year-old skeleton who works as a magic detective and, ironically enough, is both undead and a necromancer. The brilliant thing about the character for me is he attempts to cultivate a "spoopy" reputation, but underneath the surface he's actually really messed up.
