My two seconds of research suggests that 'Trans* is an umbrella term that refers to all of the identities within the gender identity spectrum.'
So basically Tumblr is mocking a person for using 'Trans*' when it's exactly the sort of thing they'd also mock someone for not using if the situation were just a little different.
