Yeah, I hope Rey gets some development too. I wasn't caring much about the trailers (changed my mind ~~kid~~ when the actual movie got released tho), but the little I saw was enough for me to bank that she could be Leia and Solo's daugther somehow, so the fact said person is actually Kylo Ren surprised me as much as seeing him not being a Johnny Depp-like guy (who's disturbingly handsome even when trying to be ugly), it's closer to your average basement dweller who became an actual Force wizard.
