The game was released on June 5th, 2025, and inspired memes using the phrase alongside the Jackenstein pumpkin face.

Origin

On June 5th, 2025, Deltarune Chapters 1-4 were released as a full package on PC and on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the console's launch. In chapter four, players battle a miniboss named Jackenstein, who is represented as a floating jack-o-lantern during the fight.

Throughout the fight, Jackenstein will occasionally appear on screen and say, "Your taking too long," altering the phrase sometimes to say things like, "Your too long," and, "Your too too." That day, footage of the fight was uploaded to YouTube^[1] by KeeTee, garnering over 30,000 views in six days.

The boss and phrase became the subject of memes over the following days. For example, on June 6th, 2025, X^[2] user @CapnVonDuke posted a photo of a man in a pumpkin mask, writing, "YOU'RE TAKING TOO LONG," garnering over 5,200 likes in five days. Later that day, X^[3] user @DewEnjoyer quoted the post with an elongated version of the image captioned, "YOU'RE LONG," garnering over 25,000 likes in the same span of time.

On June 8th, Redditor u/sub2Doggs4Life posted a version of the Types of Headaches meme to the /r/Deltarune^[4] subreddit referencing the boss fight, garnering over 3,200 upvotes in three days.

Later that day, X^[5] user @CornMayor posted a meme about Deltarune fans hurrying to draw fan art referencing the new chapters of the game, showing Jackenstein behind a rushing artist saying, "Your taking too long," garnering over 35,000 likes in three days.

On June 9th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @cube_watch posted a version of the Aight I Say Uh meme in which the audio clip of Jackenstein saying, "Your taking too long," followed by the boss's theme song play after Drake says the line, garnering over 75,000 views in two days.

On June 12th, X^[7] user @phisnom posted a screenshot of a Toby Fox tweet reading, "I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR and they all described it as 'a cry for help because your game is not out'" alongside an image of Jackenstein, suggesting the tweet was about the minigame, garnering over 23,000 likes in under a day.
