Only 10 million Wii U’s have been sold, whereas 54 million 3DS consoles have been sold. It was simply common sense to make a portable version. Besides, just one character being cut for hardware limitations isn’t that big of a deal.

Dude, they couldn't work on the 3DS. All that could have been done was to have just one of the Climbers, which takes away what makes them unique; they'd also have to change the up special.
