I do think this is a little bit of an overreaction

No the new movie killed the old one. They went around and stole everyones VHS and DVD copies and burned them. Yep you can never watch the old ghost busters ever again.

The government is even sending microwave beams to everyone house to make them forget the old one.

Yep, the old one can never be seen again
