I'm noticing a pattern here:
Bismuth: Steven tries to help and befriend someone only for them to think he's Rose and try to kill him. They're then defeated in a brutal manner and are off the show indefinitely
Jasper: Steven tries to help and befriend someone only for them to think he's Rose and try to kill him. They're then defeated in a brutal manner and are off the show indefinitely
Eyeball: Steven tries to help and befriend someone only for them to think he's Rose and try to kill him. They're then defeated in a brutal manner and are off the show indefinitely

Repeating myself again, but this is a much better context to bring this up:

The recent episode – Bubbled – is one of the most complete failures of Steven’s pacifistic, can’t-we-all-be-friends mentality. He saved and healed Ruby, only for her to try and kill him, forcing him to condemn her to an eternity floating in space in order to save himself. This, combined with Rose’s actions, seem to suggest that his morality is coming under strain in the face of greater and greater danger. Steven is being pushed by circumstance to do things he doesn't feel are right. This makes me worry for Jasper, if she's the villain who will push him too far…
