no. Not particularly. This seems more of a lesson of picking your battles, and which side of unethical behavior you want to be on.
This is mostly just a lesson that you want your unethical behavior to be for the people with the money to do a major lawsuit, and that you want to target and tear apart the weak who lack the legal assistance to counter this behavior through the court system.
So… yeah. This isn't some great lesson in journalistic integrity. It is mostly just a warning not to pick on people who are too strong. You will need a more pointed and direct event if you want the industry to actually learn anything.
