Not saying Nintendo is perfect, but I doubt they would do that unintentionally. You would have to be a real shit at marketing not to see it coming, and if Nintendo knows one thing, it's how to print money

Note: i wasn't sure if this could be considered general enough to be uploaded to main Pokemon gallery, or use the S&M gallery considering that it's a reference to this event, but i went with the latter.
