I don't know why but that sounds like a threat.

I can almost imagine, some guy says, "Hey dude, have you played the newest nintendo game?" Then some dudes come out of a black sports car, dressed like security, hand him a paper labeled "Cease and desist"

It seems silly but brand degradation is a real concern to companies. When was the last time you said Kleenex or Band-Aid and meant those brands specifically?
