Yeah, that seems like an accurate summary of the old testament. not even just the cain and abel story- just the whole old testament.

Generally speaking- things have not gone historically well for the jews. Or if they did, then it was after a major victory and push back against their neighbors (which could be included under the general heading of 'the murders').

As a general rule of thumb- the new testament is more of the hippy edition, and the old testament is more of the rambo edition.
