Getting a bit tired of seeing comments like this, as Don has gone on record saying that it isn't really his fault that he documents what he does.

While advice animals and controversies may not be "actual", true Scotsman memes (though I agree with op's sentiment if "notable, long-lasting" was the intended meaning), they are still very memetic, being copied and mutated rapidly throughout the Internet. Therefore, it is Don's job to write about these subjects.

I despise Twitter controversies as much as the next guy, and yes, Know Your Meme is riddled with problems, but Meme Daddy should not be our scapegoat for them. Don't shoot the memenger, as the old saying goes.
