2 3 days ag (Decided to write these up on a whim. None of this is exactly canon, just my interpretation of why these bosses are in garden. The largest of his vegetables were infused with this soul, but as the farmer had made a couple of shady deals in his life, it wasn't long before the devil came calling for the old man's soul. He wanted to be strong strong enough that HE could be the one calling the shots and dishing out pain. As it turned out, someone heard his prayers: The Devil himself. He asked what Goopy would give in exchange for such power and lke so many foolish folks, the bouncing blue blob promised anything. The devil offered him great strength in exchange for the slime's soul, but after receiving his gift, the slippery fellow didn't stick around to pay up. of course, nobody cheats HILDA BERG consumption of air, she found she was able to fly like a blimp. Not everyone thought it to be quite so extraordinary, however, there were those who labeled her a freak. Hilda wanted to be recognized the world over, Hilda Berg, the Flying Woman, as she envisioned herself, would soon be a household name She was found by the devil one day, who told her that he could get her the notoriety and recognition she so richly deserved, in exchange, he merely wanted her soul. She agreed and the contract was made, but after Hilda and her popularity began to rise, she didn't belleve it was quite worth her soul to be this famous, and kept the contract shed Cagney Carnation was a conflicted flower. He'd seen so many of his floral brethren get picked, pruned, cut, stepped on or and it sought out the devil himself, hearing of how he could make people's wildest dreams come true, and begged the devil to give him some way to exact revenge on the world that had so thoughtlessly destroyed so many innocent flowers. The devil any flower ever seen But his mad lust for brought him to destroy as well, and he wondered if he even had a soul left to offer 3 days ago Roibby and his brother Croaks were always getting into trouble picking fights usually. But it was only a matter of time before they found themselves in a fight they couldn't win they were ambushed by a hungry snake and needed someone to bail them out. The devil found them without much trouble, as he often seeks out the desperate, and promised them incredible strength at the cost of their souls. The contract was made, and true to his words, the brothers gained an ncreased size and amazing power...more than enough to dispatch the serpent who wanted to make a meal of them. The new fighters yeaned to test their power and get even stronger, they invaded a fly showboat making port on Inkwell Isle, promising the fles that they wouldn't be eaten if they continued to provide Ribby and Croaks with strong fighters BARONESS VON BoN BON Before the Candy Queen was a baroness at all, she was a simple girl called Bon-Bon, from her immense liking of sweets Unfortunately she may have liked them a little too much, for she nearly perished from eating them. The doctors all said the same thing-if she wanted to get better, if she wanted to be healthy and live out her life, she could never eat sweets again Bon-Bon was despondent and nearly wanted to pass on rather than give up her beloved sweet treats, but by random chance the devil visited her on her deathbed. She confessed to him her dying wish, to be surrounded by all the sweets she could eat, to eat as much as she could. To be a ruler in a land MADE of sweets, she proclaimed. As far as desires went this wasn't the most unusual the devil had ever heard, and at the price of her soul he agreed. Bon-Bon awoke in a new and She was in her subjects. Delicious delights as far as the cye could see. It was allhers..she would make sure of this. No one would oppose the rule of Baroness von Bon Djimmi wasnt the luckiest genie in the world. For eons he toiled under masters who were greedy, evil or just incompetent Lazy people who just wanted someone to do their dirty work for them. Never did he really have time for any of his own pursuits, nor could he even grant his own wishes. Only one person could save him from his fate: Old Scratch himself. When a wish gone wrong claimed the life of Djimmis most recent master, the devil came to collect the wretched human's of slaving away others-not knowing that, by promising his soul, he was in effect entering his own servitude to the devil. When he figured this out, the djinn took to the skies, hoping never to see the devil again. to next took an a series of odd jobs in order to keep a nest egg handy for his child. As uncannily smart as Waly's son was, he was still just a chick, and Wally loved him more than anything else. Nearly shot down once after being mistaken for an enemy plane, Wally pleaded to anyone who would listen to make sure his son was safe. Of course, the only one really istening was the devil. He offered Wally protection for his son, in exchange for the father bird's soul, but both birds soon flew the coop and took to the air since Wally didnt exactly trust the devil to keep his word. There could be no denying that Beppi was doing the whole clown thing wrong. The water in a squirting flower wasn't meant to be scalding Pies weren't intended to have bricks in them. And balloon animals certainly had no business biting people. Beppl couldin't keep a job very long, but who needed to work? He just wanted somewhere he could play, forever and ever. The devil came to Beppi in his time of trouble and offered him a place where he could play whenever he wished. The clown accepted with no hesitation and was granted a grand fairground where he could play as much as his heart desired but when the time came to collect the clown's soul, Beppi led the devil into the hall of mirors. By the time the devil hacd come out Beppli had fled, another name on the devil's growing list of runaway debtors. Grim was out of touch with the world, or maybe just out of practice, he had no giant horde to guard and he'd have killed for a halfway decent damsel. It was just something dragons did, he told himself. As he moped atop his tower, he was visited by none other than the devil, who (in exchange for the low, low price of Grim's soul) offered him riches to guard or use as he saw fit. Grim was overjoyed. At last, he had a purpose. and he wasnt about to fail. As much as Queen Rumor Honeybottoms tried, her hive never really got too far off the ground. It was hardly worth calling it ative, more of a·generic collective of bees-there wasn't much honey to go around, and it was hard to maloe ends meet But one day. refuse. He offered, for a price, to make her hive a highrise, stretching to the heavens, with more than enough profitable honey to make the queen and future generations of bees independently secure throughout their lives. Times being what ascribed to legends and nightmares in the ports around Inkwell Isle. Those who succumbed to her wicked gaze were turned to stone, and their ships left to sink at the bottom of the ocean. It was even rumored that she consumed the souls of those she destroyed, consigning them to eternity as a part of her consciousness. Yet Cala Maria was not entirely pleased with her lot in life, for she was hideous, and the reflective surface of the water reminded her of this constantly. In disgust she searched for a way to make herself beautiful, and it seemed that her answer came in the form of a small black boat sailing away from a distant pirate ship. Aboard that boat was the only one who gazed upon Cala without fear: naturally, the Devil. He admired her cruelty and agreed to grant her wish, provided that she relinquished her soul to him What he didn't account for, however, was that the rumors were true and she in fact had many souls, mostly the souls of deceased pirates that she had consumed. The Devil warned that he would get what was his eventually (he always did), but granted her desire all the same, and in an instant she was a beautiful mermaid. Yet as the Devil departed, he gave a cryptic that the loss of her beauty would As far as pirates went, Captain Brineybeard wasnt quite the best. He was respected, to be sure, and definitely feared, but this wasnt enough for him He wanted what any self-respecting privateer wanted, and that was to be rich. Gold, jewels, buried treasure-as standard a pirate goal as it was, the captain wanted it. But no matter how hard he tried, Brineybeand treasure buried on inkwell Isle. While sailing upon his the small boat of his own. After some discussion, the Devil (as he so often did) learned of the captain's plight and offered assistance. The Devil commanded the fish and creatures of the sea to aid the captain, diving to the depths of the ocean and retrieving the riches that had sunken there so long ago and defending him against those who would lay claim to his newfound wealth. Brineybeard was overjoyed, and, being a pirate, wasn't too keen on upholding his end of their little his soul, as long as The Phantom Express had been spoken of in folk tales and campfire songs for years. Yet none believed it actually existed A train with no driver, ferrying the souls of the doomed on their way to the afterlife-except it never truly stopped, and those who boarded were bound to the train for etenity. Short of running people over or luring them inside, however, the restless spirits had few ways of adding to their collective, and there was only so much time the spirits could tolerate not having any new blood aboard The Devil sought out this mystical train and made an offer to the souls who rode the rails: the train would be enchanted further, and spiteful specters would be introduced to slay the islanders (thus adding souls to the Phantom Express's cars), but if the train were ever to stop, the Devil would claim every last soul on board. The train had never stopped before, and it never would, so foolishly the ghosts and ghouls agreed to the Devils ludicrous terms. A keletal conductor who towered over the train, an eyeless ghost to paralyze their victims with fright, and two tal -necked demons to drag the innocent to their doom...if this didn't make the Phantom Express something to be feared, then nothing an influx of souls was Sally Stageplay, as she was often called, wasn't always the star that people knew her as. An amateur actor playing lesser parts, with her own one-woman show (which itself had merely a lukewarm reception), Sally cursed her supposed bad luck on the stage but knew not its origin. She never said the Scottish play's name on stage and wasn't one to whistle, nor did she ever wish her fellow players 'good luck. Why then, was it that she never got her one big break? She would have given anything for fame and fortune...which was just what the Devil wanted to see and hear. He could sense her frustration, and her desire to be the brightest star anyone had ever seen After some brief negotiations, the starlet signed away her soul not that it had done her much good anyway, in her eyes), and before you could say To be or not to be', Sally Stageplay was rising through the ranks, landing lead after lead. It was everything shed dreamed of...but the curtain falls on everyone Doctor Erwin Kahl was a genius. A criminal yes, but a genius. His aspirations knew no bounds, and he yearned to one day ule the entirety of Inkwell Island. But building a weapon powerful enough to subjugate the islands inhabitants would take both time and resources, neither of which he was in any hurry to expend in any great detail. Eager to gain such a weapon, or at least the material necessary to create it, Doctor Kahl sought out an even greater evil genius than himself. The Devil. The Devil offered to solve both of the mad doctors power, which the doctor would find in the nearby junkyard. Although hesitant, Kahl ultirmately agreed, unaware that the Devil had not given him a gift..but a loan. And the time wouild soon come for him to collect his due

Mhhh… how about, Dr. Khal was a scientist whose inventions were mostly failure. His biggest achievement, a small robot, was the only one that could be called a success. The robot was so very loyal to his master that he looked for the devil and asked for Khal to become the great scientist he always wished, in exchange for his soul. Upon hearing this, Khal used his new talent to make sure his robot was the greatest fighting machine in the world. He may have been a mad scientist, but he was thankful. And he was making sure his robot would never have to hold his end of the bargain.

Mild Spoilers for Werner Werman fight

Perhaps after seeing so much of his brethren killed by the cat, Werner wanted to get revenge and declared war. The battling went on and on, with neither side winning. Eventually, the devil made a deal with him to give him the means to finally kill the cat once and for all, with contraptions and the spirits of his fallen family. However, the deal was that the devil would come for his soul after fulfilling his goal, so he built a robotic doppelganger of the cat to try and trick the devil.
